Re: International Prostar Big Rig.
Now listen up my friend. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. That's something I have been learning with my armour and dio builds in the last few months.
Make up a thin brown wash and apply it to the engine. The very worst that can happen is you have to strip it down and re-do it. (But that won't happen anyway)

Brent, just got the latest issue of Scale Auto magazine today. It has a review of the Moebius ProStar kit. It is worth a look at.
They generally liked the kit, but noted some fit issues and an inaccurate dash, as the dash is set up for an auto trans, and the kit equipped with a manual. They did love the chromed parts, the wood-grain decals for the interior and snap-in windows. Cab fit to the chassis was also an issue for them.
The photos do show a nicely detailed engine that has been "muddied up" with a wash!

You might want to try pastel chalks or ladies facial makeup and dust it on with a brush. The effects can be stunning. Seems to be a different approach than mixing and applying a wash.

Brent, nice color combination on the interior .... chocolate brown and tan. Looks great, and the level of detail on the interior engraving is high, so your paint detailing made it all come to life. Keep up the good work.

Good interior colors! I'm surprised the dash isn't as complicated and dial loaded as I would expect. Thanx for the step-by-step build and how you're doing!

Brown interiors don't work for me. Until now. That combo really works!
Good call on the colours.
