Monty's Caravan
I finished it up tonight.
1:72 scale.
Box stock except for the simple base, backgrounds and map on table. That's a reduction of the map in the alternate background.
It's October 22nd 1942, the eve of the second Battle For El Alamein, and Field Marshal, Bernard 'Monty' Montgomery, meets with his second in command, to discuss the latest inteligence.
Alternate background. It's a map of the axis and allied forces positions on the eve of the battle.

Super job, Al. I like the second background, the one with the map. Helps tell the story better me thinks.

Al, between this diorama and the "retreat from Lenningrad" one, I love the storytelling. I think that this is what makes the dioramas come to life, beyond the great modeling work.
Great job on both!!!

In truth, museums learned long ago that a good diorama is magical in putting viewers "into" a place in history. Your work is even more appreciated for being in a small scale. You're a master of micro!
