Where I live.....
Some of you have seen me about for a few years. Al has posted photos of the fantastic English countryside that surrounds his farm. I thought I would share some pictures of the area where I live in the middle of Sydney, Australia. I am lucky to have a wildlife sanctuary at the bottom of my street and from time to time we get visitors from the bush. If my camera is near I take a photo of them before they go home. Enjoy and thanks for looking.

Re: Where I live.....
Rainbow lorikeets are common around here. My neighbour fed them on his balcony. They made a mess so he evicted them by cutting down a tree in his front yard.
A juvenile magpie walking across my street.
The galah is the clown of all birds living around here.
When they got tired of looking at my camera they waddled across the street looking for more grass seed.
A leaf tail gecko on my garage wall.
An eastern water dragon during his annual Christmas holidays in my goldfish pond. The rotton little.....
The ringtail possum. These delightful little guys come out at night. Sometimes you hear them running across the roof.
The sulphur crested cockatoo. Some of you may remember the old cop show Barretta. Robert Blakes character had a pet cockatoo. These guys chew everything including fences and facia boards.
Hope you liked them, thanks for looking.

Looks like a cool place to hang your hat, I've always wanted to go there for a vacation but I don't think I ever will cause I'm just a desert rat at heart. Thanks for sharing the pictures of the wild life and your house looks great

Lovely animal and bird photos Chris.
Your house may not be as old as mine (I know what you guys are like about history!! LOL) but it has a lovely old style look to it set in mature gardens as it is, and the surrounding area looks beautiful and great for cycling too. Although that log bridge looks tricky to ride over!!! LOL
Any chance of a close up of the dog?......... he looks to be a Schnauzer or maybe a Schapendoes.

Re: Where I live.....
Nice to see Australia still has wildlife and "wild" places other than in the Outback. In the U.S. the insurance company GEICO uses an animated gecko. Glad you have real ones!

Thanks everyone. Would anyone else think of posting some pictures of their part of the world? I would be really interested and I think other members too.
Yes Nige, that is my son. My cousin have encouraged him to wargame with small soldiers. My bench is covered in small soldiers being painted. That is why I am a bit quiet on the forum at the moment.

Thanks Al. The house was built in the 1970s. The builder used recycled sandstock bricks taken from demolished terrace houses. I've been told that the sandstocks were made by convicts.
Eddie is a miniature schnauzer, but I swear I think he is really an old man in a dog suit.
This is a cave that has a creek running next to it. A couple of weeks ago a puppy was found inside it. He had been there for five days. He lived nearby so a happy ending.

Glad to here the puppy got rescued. Poor little thing must have been half starved to death.
