HMS Duke of York
Here is the Revell waterline kit of the HMS Duke of York. Revell has reboxed the old Matchbox kit which I saw many years ago but didn't buy it because I already had the Tamiya version of its sister ship the HMS Prince of Wales. When the two kits are compared, the Duke Of York is more like a toy for a kids bath rather than a scale model. Detail isn't good but it doesn't matter to me. The deck was airbrushed but everything else was painted using a paintbrush. I used a combination of Tamiya and Lifecolor paints.
The HMS Duke of York is famous for sinking the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst. There were five ships in this class, the KIng George V, Prince of Wales, Duke of York, Anson and Howe. The quadruple gun turrets were a unique feature of these ships. There was a problem with reloading in the design and they apparently never worked properly. Anyway, thanks for looking.

I sure do like looking at your work Chris. It must have taken you hours to paint all that little stuff with a brush.

The close up shots do reveal the lack of detail as you mentioned Chris but I think you did a great job on it.
The camo scheme mut have been a pain to brush.

Another awesome ship to add to the collection Chris! The ship looks serene but yet menacing and waiting to attack with that Seascape! Great job! Love looking at your builds. 8)

Great looking ship, Chris. Youi don't notice the lack of detail until you see the close-ups.
