M4 Sherman, Russian lend-lease, Academy 1/35

this was the first armour kit i tried to do properly

in 1/35 by Academy it depicts a M4 Sherman used by the Soviets

i tried quite a few things out on this including spot oil washes and scratching a tarp over the rear deck

the kit came with decals for 3 versions, whilst doing some research i found a pic of one of the schemes showing the Soviets in Germany in '45

Nice Sherman, keep the armour coming! A rare photo I'd say, since Stalin liked to keep all the credit for the Red Army & mother Russia. And himself .

And by any measure the army deserved it, but the Soviet Union liked to gloss over the MASSIVE material aid the 'capitalist,decedent west' provided.

Its the late Sherman with the 76mm gun is'nt it?

yeah, its a late model M4A2 with the 76mm gun...........also had GM diesel engines

the numbers are actually the kit decals but had the oil spot wash over the top

The oil wash over the decal looks good. The rope work over the tarp looks great. Nice one Paul.
