My Ocean liner collections
Ahoy sailors
Here is a treat for you this my ocean liner collections for years on end I have built all of these from model plans the smaller ships are all built to 1:1250 these were metal kits I bought from Germany aboard ship I went to the ships library and came up upon an advertisement add from Prestons of Bamburg Germany water line ship model kits, I purchased them they are constructed from metal and plastic the kits were not painted after they were assembled they were airbrushed most of them were built aboard ship I had special packing boxes made to have them stored and kept from breakage. you will be awed when you see these the larger builds were made from bluejacket model plans made from wood and paper.

Spectacular for sure !!!!!
In the first foto, below the large liner, in front of the cases, there is a partial look at a transition ship between steam and sail. You have a pic that features that baby? Having built the Harriet Lane, that era interests me.
Thanks for sharing yer stuff . :drunken:

That looks like a happy part of your life in these pictures. What challenges did you face with your hobby while at the same time serving aboard ship in the navy? I look forward to your reply because I think you have had a fascinating life.

Franklin, I was in awe of the second picture with all of the ships. But, when I saw them all on the table, and how small they are, I am stunned. Bravo !!!

You ARE one fantastic and dedicated builder. It must be nice to own your own museum of sea transport. Once in a while, if you can, highlight one particular model and describe what is unusual about it or the building of it. Thanks.
