WHAT !?!?
Porsche is the best ! Better than Ferrari for sure. I have a stash of Enthusiast Edition Porsches, now I just need to get up the nerve to build one.
Nice job on the decals !

I’ve got a union 917, Testors 930 and a fujimi carerra something or other.. I want a 911/964 but it’s only available in diecast or one particular 2009 fujimi or aoshima kit which I haven’t seen for sale anywhere, I think it’s labelled as a blackbird.. Possibly. If you’ve seen the film ‘BadBoys’ with will smith and Martin lawerance it’s the one in that.

Re: Tamiya Escort Cosworth Michelin Pilot 24153
I clear coated the escort.
Not too bad, It’s a little thick in places when trying to chase out the orange peel, which eventually calmed down but kinda filled in some body lines.
Not a brilliant thing to do but hoping I’ll be able to tape round it and make it work.
As the decals are really thick you can see the edges of them where I cut around.. memo to self, try not to use aftermarket decals if possible.
I’m happy with the finish so not really going to be tempting fate with wet sanding and polishing. It’s too risky

Looking too good for a rally car! Will you be weathering it?

Thanks!
I’ve never done weathering before and I don’t have the balls to try it.
Maybe some unloved diecasts from the charity shops next time we go near would be the best to start with.
There is something I haven’t got and is for me the #1 should always be weathered vehicle, the rally Lancia Stratos, that car never looks right clean as all I’ve ever seen of them on YouTube have all been mudded up.
I have got a couple of revell race corvettes C8R’s which could be streaked I guess, probably much easier on something like that than trying to get textures and a wet mud look on a rally car, I dunno

Looks blooming great to me Ash.
I have had good and bad results from lacquering - with it lifting decals, and the odd bad run, so I prefer to polish up the base paint and generally leaving decals alone.
....but it does impress me at the high gloss finishes which some people acheive on their models.
As you may know, rally cars don’t stay muddy for long and get pressure cleaned after each day’s event, if only to check for oil leaks. Scrutineers demand that the cars are spotless before being checked, especially underneath, and not just in international rallying but local stuff too.

Looking great Ash.
That Michelin man decal on the rear looks tricky to apply. You've come a long way with decal applying.
