Another Revell 1/8th scale Corvette
Revell 1/8th 1966 Corvette Coupe.
The next instalment of my 1/8th scale quick build threads - yet another 1965 Corvette modified to a ‘66 by filling the roof side vents.
It was bought as a damaged model, requiring a bit of care and attention - but still cost me over £100 - thankfully much of the car had been left unpainted.
The plan: a Goodwood Revival racer - with a hint of inspiration from the ‘63 Corvette Grand Sport.
First the body received radiused rear wheel arches to accommodate larger tyres, the side vents were cut out and replaced with mesh, roof vents filled - and it got a hood scoop. The ugly standard hubcaps were replaced by 5 spoke alloys.

Re: Another Revell 1/8th scale Corvette
The engine came next with the deletion of the fuel injection system and replaced by a four barrel carburettor with ram pipe / velocity stack. The chassis also came in for the usual brake and fuel lines, and dual side exhaust system.
The interior was fitted with a roll-over bar, seat belts, numerous gauges and switches and an E type Steering wheel......and that finished off the chassis.
