Lancia LC2
My mojo still hasn't returned and although I made a little progress on 'Mile End Garage', I'm hoping this simple build will help get it back.
The kit is a curbside, which at the moment is a bonus. However, reviews I've read about it, seem to indicate that the body has been molded from a diecast mold and hence has some serious 'clean up' to do.
Decals look good:
However, the tyres leave a lot to be desired. No tread and square sholdered.

Doesn’t look too bad - but tyres are disappointing.
I’m sure once you get into it, give it a quick paint and applied the decals it will still be worthwhile model.

I'll sand the surface to replicate 'scrubbed' slicks but I need to 'round off' the outside rims. Just not sure how to do it yet.

Re: Lancia LC2
Looks like a good modelling subject but those tires (or tyres) need work.

Re: Lancia LC2
I saw a vid this morning and they were modifying a set of tyres, removing some of the tread on each one to give a camber scrubbed effect on one half of the tyre.
Basically pushed the tyre onto a 12mm socket then attached the socket to a drill by the little extension bars you get in a socket set. Turned on the drill and shaped the tyre with a nail file.
Maybe that would work?

I was going to say the same thing.

Re: Lancia LC2
That sounds like a plan Ash. Thanks.
I cleaned up the body but boy the doors just wouldn't fit properly. Way out. Sorry, forgot to take pics.
However, this is where they are at now. Not perfect by any means but a whole heap better. With more work I could get them better still but I want this to be a quick build, so will settle for where they are now.
On the positive side, at least the body is agood fit as per this mock up.

It sits well, and you won’t even see the lines when it’s painted and put on and shelf

That is one sharp looking car. I can hardly wait to see what it looks like in color.

I agree.
You made some fiddly switches in the dashboard too?

Re: Lancia LC2
Thanks both.
No Ash..... switches were part of the dashboard done with a mirror effect Molotow pen.
However, I did make the gear lever and linkage 'cos I lost the kit part somehow. It's out of scale but it's the best I could do these days with my arthritic hands. LOL
I got the huge Martin stripe decals down to-day without too much difficulty.
