Mini Cooper (Die Cast)
Hi all,
I've just finished this and would like to share it...
Fully Stripped down...
Body primed...
Silver base coat...
Felt carpet...
I use Mr Surfacer 500 for the floor for the texture and then painted black...
Seats and dash fitted, buttons, etc painted...
Engine was originally chrome, stripped it and painted it green...
And now all finished, body is Land Rover Epsom Green pearl, and the roof is Seat Candy White...
I used the Tamiya weathering set to try and add a little colour to the exhaust...
Thank you for looking and please as usual, let me know what you think, both good and bad points please...

Re: Mini Cooper (Die Cast)
I have the utmost respect for anyone who builds a 1/24 Mini. Tiny model. Nice job on yours.

Looks good Andy.
These days I appreciate restoring die-cast models more - they are unlikely to break if they fall, and you can get as much fun rebuilding them as plastic kits.

Nicely done Andy! Another green which also looks nice.
It only sunk in this afternoon how die cast can help with model building, the one I saw earlier was an rs200 with the blue stripes etc and a 1/24.
Definitely something I will tamper with in the future.
Top job fella

Hi Ash,
Thank you, Sir, they're great to work on, especially used ones as you can normally buy them really cheap and then use them to practice painting and then just use normal paint stripper and start again...

Re: Mini Cooper (Die Cast)
It’s a really good idea, though I just remembered the guy used an IXO car and some Colorado decals.
What else you got in your diecast stash?
