Neko works.. cartoon escort
I saw these on HLJ the other day and I was very intrigued, so I ordered 2, Escort and GT40..
Wow these are cool, I planned on doing the escort and sending it to my pal, but then I saw it so now I wanna keep it. There are no more in stock either so I’m in a pickle, my mrs wants me to do the gt40 for her in purple and if I send this to my pal I’ve got nothing.
Back onto HLJ and they had this so I thought worse case scenario he gets the escort and I still have something funky on my desk.

Ha ha!! I like Ash.
I take it its one soldid piece?
The photo of the painted model shows it with the Japanese TCC headlight covers. Do they come with it and are you going to use them. Hope not as they don't suit it IMO.
Did it come with decals? If not why not do it in the Alan Mann colour scheme?

They don’t make them anymore and there’s only a few left in stock, I’m sure there’s a couple that would interest you but yeah I really like them.
One piece resin, no decals included, comes in a tiny bag with a piece of paper with loads of Japanese writing on.
I’ll take a shot against a 1/24 so you can see the size comparison.

Think that should take you to the right page if it works

Nastro was a part started from eBay just needs a bit of paint stripping off.
Ninja has got a tonne of extras, forks, chain, detail set etc.
Yzr has everything I could buy including Spider-Man decals and paint. I was told to use the fortuna yzr as Spider-Man bike has red wheel decals and the blue one has blue. So I’ve go the fortuna one in there somewhere as well.
RGV I killed the decals and bought some replacements and it’s on my part started to do list.

Re: Neko works.. cartoon escort
While I’m waiting for the clear coat to dry on the new Subaru I decided to have a play with the little cars.
The escort is going to my pal down south and the gt40 my mrs has claimed but she wanted it purple, I couldn’t really think of anything which would go with a purple body and other than white so I switched it and went with metallic grey and purple stripes.
Not too sure about the escort colour though, think it needed to be brighter red instead so I’m considering masking the windows back up and painting it Alfa Romeo 155 dtm red I’ve had for years instead, that way I can do some side stripes as it seems a bit naked with only the bonnet ones.

Ok so I don’t like the red and the lighter one still isn’t what I’m after, X7 may work but I’m over red now and need some inspiration!
My pal once had a red fiesta XR2 lookalike with pepper pots, which is why I planned red but it’s not gonna be right.
I don’t want to paint another blue car at the moment, 3 on the trot is too many.
There are no decals in the bag but I’ve pulled loads of tiny ones from my decal bag so I’ve got a couple of things to play with.
I’m not limited to 1 colour either, so I can do stripes etc but I’m not skilled enough to paint a unicorn.
Any ideas before I spend hours trying to tape up tiger stripes, which would look brilliant if someone else did it but probably not so good if I do it
Any ideas?

Sorry I thought I’d replied to this. I’ve been trying to work out how it would go..
yellow body with green arches and green sills thick stripe over the top. The vision is there but I’ve got the skyline thing coming, put all that together with green headlight caps and try painting a side on roll cage in the rear windows, it would look pretty cool I reckon so I’ll try it on that.
I needed to think of something he will look at and give him a bit of ‘well that’s different’ when he opens it and my other half keeps telling me not to over complicate builds. So I put all that together and had an idea.
They basically use spray cans and do all different colours, then get thick markers and go around all the panel lines then over creases and put little dashes on the lines.
It’s a cartoon car and it’s tiny so I’m gonna have a go at this style using a thin sharpie but over a plain white base.
Just hope the paint won’t react with the marker ink if I goto clear it again and or the panel line accent I plan to obtain.
Sorry for the essay as usual
