1957 Chevrolet
Back to proper models.....Here are a pair of ‘57 Chevys I still haven’t sold (yet!). The metallic blue Revell is a later 150 sedan, whereas the metallic red AMT version is the BelAir. The Revell is better of the two for accuracy - although the AMT has an opening trunk, but the tooling is older and the roof line isn’t quite right. .....but I still like them both.

Re: 1957 Chevrolet
I like the green one Ron.
I did something similar to an amt 55 Nomad that was a repop without the dragster bits.

Pleasing to the eye aren't they. Well not that gasser monstrosity. I'm not criticising your build quality, It's just I can't stand that kind of butchery to a classic car.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is said.
I like classics too, and I’m not in favour of chopping up a good car.....but without a bit of chopping and changing we wouldn’t have motor sport.
There is little skill in drag racing, plant your foot and go - and it’s over in seconds. I’ve been down a dragstrip dozens of times, and it’s fun. But most guys who run older cars are built from cars that would normally end up as scrap. They put their hearts and souls, and plenty of cash into their pride and joy. Some, I agree, go too far, and I’ve never liked the rat look.
But, in this world it’s what floats your boat if you can afford it.
Me ? ...I’d take the Chevrolet over a Lamborghini any day......and if it wasn’t for each individual having their own taste on cars we’d all still be driving black model T Fords to this day.
......but I liked your reply, thanks.

It's a shame car companies have changed so much; they've gone from building cars with character, to building the jelly moulded cars of today...
I really like the Red one, is it a Candy Apple Red...

Yeah, everything looks the same now. I struggle to identify any particular make and model. Everything is way too uniform.

Nice job on both of them.
I prefer the 56 myself and your blue version looks 'The Biz'
As for gassers..... bring em on!!

Re: 1957 Chevrolet
This afternoon a friend called round to show me his ‘new’ car - and I found myself agreeing to some point with Dave’s comment about modifying classics. Kevin’s car is not a classic, but he had bought himself a BMW 5 series thingy, black, black windows, black wheels and blacked out chrome trim. ‘Yes, very nice’ I said, but inside I was thinking ‘why?’....it looks like a Mafia staff car - it would have looked so much better with the chrome trim and silver wheels - but then, I’d never buy a BMW. Yes, we can all be critical about cars, and we are entitled to have our own opinions.
I was pleased to hear when Kev went on to say that he bought the car cheaply, didn’t like the black wheels or trim, and was going to have it all powder coated silver. I breathed a sigh of relief, and agreed with his common sense and sanity.
