A precautionary idea...........

...........just in case the site ever gets 'hacked' for some reason, I'm thinking about creating a separate database ( as opposed to the site database ) of emails, so that I can inform all members of a new website I would create.

This database of emails would remain totaly confinedntial and be used for no other purpose other than to inform members of a new website should this one be hacked.

I would prefer to keep these emails on my computer but if need be will keep them on paper.

Your opinons would be appreciated.

No... I don't need anyone to send the email address as they are already on the site. I just need members permission to add them to my own email database.

If the site 'crashes  or is hacked' I will be able to set up a new site and will be able to inform members about the new site.
