Restoring decals Empty Restoring decals

Other than placing the decals in a south facing window for months on end, does anyone know how to restore the colours on decals.

Or where I can buy a fresh set for this old 1:20 scale Tamiya kit. Either this livery or even another!!

Restoring decals Fiat-110

Searching the web I can find 1:43, 1:24, and 1:18 versions but a complete blank on 1:20.  Restoring decals 3871844300

Yup. It dates back to 1980, hence the difficulty.

An alternative would be to buy a set of 1:24 decals and resize them to 1:20. Can anyone help in that respect?

I have the same issue with my 1/25th scale IMC Touch Tone Terror...decals are old and dried out would be interested in finding a way to get some new ones for it too that wont fall apart when being used.

If they're not badly cracked, I've had good luck overspraying them with Testors Decal Bonder from their decal making kit. Or scan them and create new ones using Testor's product.

Either way, you'll have to cut them exactly before dipping into water.

Resizing would be tricky process.

Saw this online: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/shunko-models-shk-d179-fiat-131-abarth--184588

Just how bad are the originals?

Mike....
Thank you sir for the tips. I hope I can have someone make a few sets of them for me since I dont have the skills or equipment to myself. Plus Im sure someone out there could use or want some as well...me id like to have a few sets made of them so I can restore and build my kit and have a few extras for other version or builds of the TTT kit using the Little Red Wagon kit as a donor to. Id like to build all three versions the TTT kit came with as optional building versions....stock phone company truck...wild phone company custom truck..and drag version. Then put them all in a case together. I still cant figure out why they have not reissued the Touch Tone Terror kit since that have the Little Red Wagon one..???...its basically the same truck other than the unique parts/extras and decals. I appreciate the input greatly.

Old skule way would be to clearcoat I suppose Al, never tried it though.

You would need to carefully cut them out, but I'd give it a test first.
