2015 McLaren 570S
Hello to Everyone!
It's been a while since I built a nice Revell-Germany kit. In fact this was quite a surprise. No fitting issues, straight forward easy and fun build. Decals are so-so, wheels&tires are aweful, but a set of nice ones seem to be sold out everywhere. Painted it with Tamiya's silver leaf, clear orange and clear red.
Hope you enjoy it,
Cheers,
Nuno

must be a common flaw with the revell germany kits i built the i8 and the wheels were dismal in it as well striking color combo and very popping shiny paint how did you layer the clear orange and clear red or was it a mixture? anyways love the color beautiful build my friend

Hi,
Thank you for your words. It was painted by layers, leaving it about one hour between coats: silver leaf as a base coat, then two clear orange coats and a top clear red coat. Finished with gloss varnish.
Cheers,
Nuno.

Very nice. I have this in the stash. Did you manage to figure out a way to make the doors work or are they static?

Hi,
The doors are static. You'll have to choose open or closed when finishing the kit, for there's a hinge you must cut to get the door closed. I kept them open, after I had a great time detailing the interior, I'd be sorry to hide it. Also, the closed door position leaves a huge unrealistic gap.
I'm pretty sure a skilled modeller can easily make the doors work, but not me
Cheers,
Nuno.

Hmm, I thought as much when I looked at it. I'll have a think on how to make them work, purely for a photographic reason of course. Excellent job here by the way. I shall be using these photos for my own reference. Many thanks.

Beautiful build! The doors up configuration in combination with the paint colours put me mind of an insect in mid-flight, very sleek and organic. Excellent work.
