Robert E. Lee Steamboat

I had given up on this one some time back out of frustration.  The box is copyrighted 2009, but the hull says it's a 1978 mold.  A lot of the pins on pieces did not line up with the holes they go in.  The hull has a curvature to it, but most of the other parts are molded flat or straight.  When it came to gluing the upper level down, it kept popping the glue joint.  Luckily there were some cross braces molded into the decks.  I took some craft wire and and twisted it around the upper and lower decks to solve that problem.  And now its finally finished and off the bench!

That turned out very well.

Beautiful build! I've always been impressed with Mississippi Steamboats but have never built one - sort of like a mobile, floating mansion they are.

Makes into a cool looking model !
