The Red Aero
This one's out of the WIP box, but has a way to go yet. If you recall the 1929 Bentley Silver Aero previously done, (below) it's a similar concoction built for more speed.
Painted this one bright red. Yes, it's another Bentley based hot rod. Those Bentley bodies are easy to come by in 1/32nd.
Originally, it was planned to have a 1/32nd Mercedes DIII aero motor in it, but it turned out too long for the chassis.
So, this 1/35th Nuffield Liberty came along at a great price. It's a 1/35th tank motor as used in interwar British tanks and it fits nicely.
Notice that the original Bentley Blower has been utilized. Copper wire was added for the connection of the blower to the intake. Plug wires were added as well as the wiring tube. Don't know if the carburetion is adequate for the 27liter V12, but, after all, it's only a 'dream machine'. LOL
It's meant to have dual spark plugs, but it got a little tricky fitting them in the tubes - so single plugs.
Another 'little' build for the fun of it.

Nice one Mike.
Twin spark or single spark, I think you did a great job on the wiring in this scale!!

Re: The Red Aero
You sure do pack a lot of detail into such a small package.

Re: The Red Aero
Great start! The detail is fantastic, especially for the scale. And the idea of using a tank motor for a hot rod is wonderful

I guess I'm gonna have to comment on the scale also. Hard getting my head to realize you're doing this in 1/32 !!

Re: The Red Aero
This began to look more and more like a hot rod than a speed machine, so the fenders went on.
Radiator shell and support rods are in. I'll have to paint up that license.
Windscreens, brake lever, Chevy steering box are on.
What interior there was is in.
There were no decals with this kit and no molded in gaugefaces, so stash decals were added. The shifter is stock, but looks awfully tall, so I'm still thinking on that one.
It was originally going to have 12 short stubby pipes to breathe out fire, but since it's now a hot rod, I modified the stock exhaust exits and added trumpets. After smoothing, they'll be done chrome with my new Molotow pen.
Thanks for the comments,
Mike
