Well, this side of the pond, many kits almost become 'Grail' items due to the cost of getting them shipped over! Import charges and handling fees can easily double or more the price of a kit making them a rare treat.
If you include these, I have loads but top of my list are:-
Revell Speed Shop Chevy Sedan Delivery
Galaxie Aerosedan Delivery

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
No longer building, I have no special hunger, but back in the day the blue IMC (was it?) Lola was so rare, I never saw a kit at any model convention. Of course, later the rare early AMT kits I could improve on became a thing too. Thanx for the question.

Paul.... I am a fan of the Tom Daniels kits too. I have a few but still need to find some that were special to me from my childhood days. They did re-issue the Dragon Wagon as the Circus Wagon awhile back. Me the one I want most is the Un-Real Roller...I have fond memories of building it with my dad as a kid...I think it was the wildest one they made.

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
Paul... That is a shame shipping is so high...if it were cheaper to I would ship to there...its getting expensive even to ship over here from state to state. Kind of puts a damper on my possible trade dealings for stuff I want or need but on my so called budget that is nothing new its just worse. Thanks to kind people...garage sales..second hand stores..trading I have something to do with all my time...LOL.. Yeah I hear Johan stuff is rare over there too...love there stuff...even there snap kits were great.

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
Mine would be anything Honda Accord, Civic, Prelude, et cetera related. Love my Hondas. But I also have fine tastes in older 1930s, 40s, and 50's automobiles as well, especially Lead Sleds!! So, yes I know my Unicorns are wild, but at least I can build them the way I want when I get a chance.

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
I have a Cop Out if you have anything nice to swap for it Paul.
It's maybe 2 quid more to post a single kit to Dublin than what you'd pay to post to a UK addy.

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
Well, if anyone wants a Cop Out I have one to trade. I don't really like funny cars, or at least the fibreglass ones with the body hinged at the back.

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
I have only 1 Grail kit to get;
MPC 70 Mustang Fastback
When I find one, I don't have the $$ to get it. They where hard to find when they first came out also.

If it's the mach 1 style, with the red box art, it's currently available, even over here.

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
My personal 'Unicorn' is the one I'm building, lol. Throughout my modelling eras I've fallen prey to the allure of making what I wish I could buy ... this leads to all kinds of complications, including extremely long build times. Such is life, I guess.

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
Some big Unicorns here guys.
For me I am happy if I find a different version of the kit I am afer. I could care less about the box art, although this has only happened twice.
I have been lucky enough to find every kit I have ever had on my wish/want list. For me most of the time just finding the kit and seeing the box art has been enough to spark the memories from a time we all long for.
Although there are only a few I haven't actually bought.
One of the hardest ones for me to find was the MPC Super Dualllie Chevy 4x4 pick up from the early '80's.
I had searched eBay for years, whenever one become available it was stupid expensive. Eventually I met Mark on another forum and we got talking. Turned out he had a complete kit in a "needing to be restored state" but complete.
Some day it will be restored. THANKS MARK!
I have every kit I have ever wanted and will ever need, my stash/collection is complete.

All I really want is a Jo-han Haulin Hearse/Roarin Rambulance twin engined dragster and the old IMC/Memorial Collections VW Beetle that could be built completely stock or as a front engined Hemi Altered .
Not much chance really. LOL

Re: Unicorns...Whats yours...?
Shay buddy...Those were good kits...I still have the original box for my IMC Bug kit but not the car anymore it got lost somewhere since my childhood days. Another dang Unicorn of mine is trying to find the parts to restore the ones I have..seems like no matter how long or hard I try to find them I cant. Sitting on around 100 very cool old pieces of model history needing restored is no fun.

You've been searching for bits and pieces for a long time now Mark and you don't seem to be getting any joy, must be frustrating.
