Easy spray can decanting
I spotted this and thought it worth posting here. Not tried it yet but it does look easy.

Re: Easy spray can decanting
Much easier to just cut the top of the can off and pour the contents into a jar, which is what I've been doing for years

So how do you get the propellant out first? If you just cut the top off the can you aren't going to have much left to pour int the jar...
I don't use the plastic wrap, I just use a big soda straw and spray into the straw and let the paint drip into a jar or bottle. Cheap and dirty.

I put a pin hole in the aerosol, about half inch from the top of the neck, once the gas has escaped, I open up the hole and cut the top off with scissors, I then pinch the can to make a spout, and pour the contents out, I've been doing this for many years without any problems

Thanks for posting Al, very useful. May try that with primer.

Geoff's method might sound a bit drastic, but it works fine.
I saved a can of Ford electric orange that was starting to leak propellant doing it that way.

This what I use. Cut the tip off, spray and toss.
