The annual grass fires are another thing I don't miss about living in California.

Re: Nasty Weather
Thanks guys. The Loma Fire, south of the San Francisco Bay area, is far enough away from me to feel safe but close enough to watch the planes drop flame retardant. My sister lives up there but I feel reasonably sure it won't get to her little canyon. In any case, she'd get the evacuation order in plenty of time!

Keep a eye on it and be safe. A few years ago we had a small tornado here...lost a lot of my stuff and family models, etc. but we were lucky no one got harmed. My build room is still out of order...

That must be awful. I've never been in a tornado. I always think: at least they get a lot of warning but then there's the question, where you gonna go to get away from it?
We had a nasty fire (Trabing fire) much closer to town here and the big problem was our little roads clogged with traffic from the closed freeway made evacuating livestock almost impossible.

Re: Nasty Weather
I've been in Calif summer and seen both the knee-deep beige grass and planes dropping fire retardant just over the hills. Kinda gets one's attention! Glad the heat and winds changed. The South of France and parts of Australia have seasonal fires as well. Warmer temps and longer more intense droughts will make things worse in more places too.

Wow, nasty indeed. Hope all is well with you and everyone around - and for some rain, too.

Good luck, Ace. At the least it gave you the opportunity to get a great photo!

Ace...We got no warning it came in the middle of the night...by the time they did issue one it was here. The sad thing is I lost some of my childhood and dads old models/promos...what I still have is damaged and in need of parts I hope to find someday so I can save them. We had no power for over a week and it was the middle of summer here temps in the 90s with high humidity...rough time. My dads old stuff means the world to me...he had collected old promos and kits for many years.

Re: Nasty Weather
That's very sad. I have good memories of my dad helping with my first models. We built some great glue bombs together.
Hope you get your build room back soon.

Ace...Thanks...its been rough on me. The room is what it is or will be....the models and promos I just have to try and restore or save...too many good memories from them. Finding the needed parts wont be fun....
