USS George Washington SSBN-598
This is another build I am carrying over from a now defunct site. A reissue of a kit from the late 50's, it bears all the earmarks of a kit from that era: flash, seams, and poor fit. Still, compared to the current offerings, the interior detail is superior to some newer kits.
Box art and sprues:
Torpedo room and sail
After major filling and sanding, the exterior is ready for primer.

Glad to see this build made it over! The hull looks fantastic and I remember the forward torpedo room looking great. Can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the interior

Re: USS George Washington SSBN-598
Cheers gents. Many small pieces later and this module is done. Two down, a few more to go. Lower level berthing and the galley will be obscured for the most part after these levels have been attached to the control room. Next I will have to detail the interior hull before placing this module inside the hull.

The interior detailing is great! And even if the lower berthing is obscured parts of it will show through and add an incredible depth to the build. Looking forward to seeing more!

First Submarine Model I have seen built. I find it very interesting. Much more detail than I thought there would be. Good workmanship on it.

I remember building one of these in the '60s when I was about 10, using a giant squashed paint brush. I didn't even let the paint dry before changing colors. Looked like a nuclear meltdown! This is great Cole.

Wow, you've really made something from this old dog. I built it in the early 90s, and had all the issues you mention.
