And so the work begins ...
Hi guys,
Sorry that I haven't been around for a couple of weeks but I have been moving house to a lovely little village called Bawtry.
We got the keys Thursday 14/4 and by the following Monday we had totally redecorated the place and moved all our things for the old place an hour from here and into the new one.
Today the Internet was connected so I can now browse the world again.
So this is my new modelling area and holy moly I have a lot to do...
This was the Thursday we moved in
Then It turned into this..
As you can see it's going to take a bit of work to get everything in order.
It's now gone 10pm and I'm going to start the painting but I found this today and I'm going to try it out right now. I just wish we saw it before we painted the house!!
Let's see if it's any good

Good stuff Ash, good luck with completion of the new digs and your model room. Looking forward to seeing it.
I have one of the older forced air HVLP painters.
Did the entire outside of my house, windows, drains, doors etc on my own in 5 days of actual paint time. Actual time frame was two wks with all the masking and unmasking and the three coats.

That's awesome dude,I didn't even know these things existed until yesterday.
Been in the garage and one of the walls is done, the other is still wet and patchy in places. Will go get me some levelling compound later on and sort out the floor and if I have enough time once the walls and new floor are dry I will make a start on the fitting of the new bench.
Still lots to do with wall sockets and extra lighting.

It might be worth veering off the M1 and using the A1(M) to drive down to see the kids........ If only to drop by and try and abscond with some of your kits while you get the kettle on ....lol
Good luck with the settling in, you've done well to get decorated basically over a weekend, the rest won't take long if that's anything to go by.

If you do, come down to Carlisle, turn left on to the A69 and stop in for a cuppa with me too.
Be warned though, I'll be locking up my stash before you arrive!!!! LOL
Going to be a great work space Ash. I still can't believe you moved and completely decorated in just four days!!!!
Skype soon.

Re: And so the work begins ...
Sounds like a good plan Ash.
You are all mad, if I ever make it over there I'll be sure to stop in to see each of you for a brew or tea. Of course it would really only be to pillage your stash.

Well I'm 250 miles away but it's only 20 mins out the way from my normal route.
Curt ... You're welcome to come and have a pillage here ... I don't have a stash, never have ... Most I have spare is some 1/35 figures. .... And yes ... We're mad. :)

I think a camera lens is getting a few coats of paint!
Have fun building your room, the plastic will keep until Colin makes his way there so no pressure.

I'm jealous. Seems like you have a bunch of you living within a few miles of each other. Here in the western USA we are hundreds of miles apart.
Ash, enjoy the new digs.

Re: And so the work begins ...
Thanks guys, the walls are now painted and changed my plans with the floor as was too expensive to do what I had in mind. Not to worry hopefully I will find some time to grab the other type tomorrow.
Need to paint the ceiling too but that's going to have a light coat of white
Have an idea to cover up the door too.
Guys if your ever passing your welcome to visit

Hi Ash,
Looks great Sir, you're going to have a ton of space to move around, just think of how many kits you can get to fill it all...
Andy...
