Modified Tamiya Honda RA272 F1
Just happy to get this one wrapped up and off the bench. It's not what I envisioned when I decided to redo this. This was originally completed 7yrs ago with the panel lines, chrome paint, checkered front end, winglets and rear wing.
3yrs ago I decided I wanted to add the rivets (printed decals), new tires, and add some detail to the engine.
I was tired of looking at it in pieces so it was wrapped up last night.
Mods:
Spaz Stix Chrome paint.
Scribbed panel lines
Printed rivet decals
Added winglets on the nose
Hand cut and layed masking for checkers
Added engine detail
Tires from a sprint car
Wheels from some F1 kit
Random decals
And a big ass rear wing, just cause I could.

I'm jumping on the compliment band wagon Curt. The entire car looks great and the engine is exquisite.

I remember this one well Curt.... you have done a great job on the re-vamp, just not sure about that tail thingy. But then I'm just an old F1 purist.
Slap some outrageous weaponry on it Curt and it would qualify for the DDC Challenge!! LOL

A bit "outside the box" and even though i'm with Al on F1 purism .... all in all it's unique, well built, lovely paintwork and i have to say i like it quite a lot

Really good mate, I like the wet tyres and the wing gives it a unique look..

Nice rebuild Curt. Almost looks like a Pikes Peak racer.
That was my first thought also.

Thanks guys for the compliments, I get the wing thing. You either like it or hate it.
For me the wing was more of an old era Indianapolis inspired idea when pretty much anything went.

Lol, I remember you giving my the gears about the winglets way back 7yrs ago when I first did this. I had to go dig up some late 70's era Indianapolis car images for ya.
