.............. has been dreadfully slow for me for a couple of weeks and I have been using Chrome which has been fine.
To-day, however, I can't get on to Firefox at all!!
Is anyone else having problems?

You might check HELP/About Firefox and see if you have the latest updates.

probably all the malware that the browsers let in since all the security issues they had in june this year has eventually slowed it to a stand still (irrelevant of any antivirus software you have installed it still can get through)
Try a virus check (full scan) ... then use a malware detector ("spybot search and destroy" is one of the better ones) then try for an update on your firefox. that may help, possibly, hopefully.
I'd personally continue using Chrome .. it's secure !!!
