First single record you bought.
Following on from john2308's Birthday Song thread I thought this would be fun too.
This is mine from 1960 when I was just 12 years old:

Lucky kids! Mine was 1961, "Bonanza " TV show song. Disappointed it wasn't the same recording as the TV show arrangement. A lesson in life.

I never, ever bought a single. I did however listen to my older sisters singles. I remember wearing these two out as a kid, and still love them to this day.

Like Sam I've never bought any singles, only albums. Was given a heap of them by a friend that was going to throw them out around '84-'84.
The first album I bought was David Bowie's Diamond Dogs, followed by Judas Priest's Rocka Rolla in 1974.

"Million Dollar Riff" by Skyhooks, circa 1975. The 'hooks were an Aussie band of the mid to late 70s.
They were my first live concert too.
Going OT, first album I bought was the White Album by the Beatles

Re: First single record you bought.
I bought so many 45s there's no way to remember for sure which one that was for sure but I recall these two: Centerfold - J. Geils Band OR Abracadabra - Steve Miller Band
Album is easy...B-52s - Wild Planet.
I sooner buy the whole album than 45s at first but that evened out later on.

I bought both Sweet's 45's and albums. The 45's had songs not on albums here.
