Monogram Chaparral 2D Coupe

Four day build of Monograms kit.

The kit was originaly intended for slot car racing and I think was also 'motorized'. Crappy little kit, very basic with not a lot of parts.

The wheels were full chrome but with some blackwash and Testors Dullcote, have come out quite nice considering what they are.

I used electrical connector bootlace ends for the stacks as the kit offerings were hideous.

For a four day build, I'm pleased to have it as another shelfie!!

Looks great Al, it came out well. Its is a nice model of a very classic race car!!

Four day build, genius! Maybe we should all switch to "snap" kits, then there wouldn't be any stalled models! Fantastic work, small improvements plus incredibly clean work equals something we can all enjoy! Thank you again.

Four days work - now you can get some sleep. LOL

Great looking build, Al. Definitely not bottom shelf material. The bootlace pieces really add realism to the 'engine'. Nice touch.

Silk purse indeed. These old kits are a reminder of how far our hobby has come in the last 50 odd years.

I have this kit and i agree with you. You did and outstanding job! Looks awesome! love the stacks!
