Quaker State Sprint Car
My first sprint car. I have several of these so I will use this one as a test run to see how well they go together.
I assembled the chassis and painted it. Also the body parts have been painted and set aside to dry/harden.

Thanks Bruce !
Got the engine in and the front suspension on. I found that the best glue to use with the fiddly suspension bits was thick CA....and then hit it with some accelerator.

That chassis rocks. Love the little stands. Is that something you scratched up or were they part of a kit?

Looking good Paul.
Does the accelerator stop the Super Glue from fogging up the painted parts? I assume your'e just using small amounts of CA

Re: Quaker State Sprint Car
Thanks guys !
Buck, those stands came in the 1/20 Tamiya Williams FW24 F1 kit.
Shay, the accelerator makes the CA harden instantly. You have to be careful though because you can fog paint when it kicks off. I usually put a tiny bit on a brush that I use just for that purpose to apply the kicker.
More stuff added. All thats left to do is wheels and wings.

Re: Quaker State Sprint Car
I have a few of the early sprint car models and have been told they are VERY fragile to build. As much as I like the looks, they may get put on ebay. lol

It's very easy to be fast when you're transfering builds from another forum. LOL
