80 Ramcharger Empty 80 Ramcharger

Post by heepey Thu 16 Jan 2014, 5:37 am

I'm calling this one done. Monogram 1/24 Gone Fishin' set. Started this one in about '95. Had it painted for many years but finally got motivated and put the finishing touches on.

That's a good looking truck Dan and like I said in the WIP, the colours work well together.

Pretty, and pretty good work! I notice u also took the shine off the tire sidewalls, a good idea and nice job. I wonder if the back "step thing" was part of the kit or added by u. In either case it's a nice idea and it or a trailer hitch helps add to the realism. What I rarely see on the pickups is a front winch/cable combo, and they're not that hard to scratch build.
Last, nice color combo and good work on the window trim too.

The tires are actually soft rubber and didn't have shine. The bumpers are scratch built and the back will get a trailer ball eventually. I may add a winch in the front. The one I made for this didn't look right.

Nice Truck - but after almost 20 years, I think it deserves to be called finished.

Very few of my models are ever really finished. This one may yet get outfitted for a search and rescue mode. (Signage, lights, winch, radios, etc.)

Not a kit or colours you usually see together but they work great together. That's a beauty of a truck!
