Is there much difference...
Hi all,
So sorry if this seems like a silly question, but, may I ask, if there much noticeable size difference between a 1/24th model and a 1/25th model please...
Could you use the two together (say in a diorama) or would it not look right...
Many thanks...
Andy...

No such thing as a silly question Andy...
This is a moot point amongst modellers.
If a car is say 4m long, that scales out at 166.66mm long at 1/24th and 160mm long at 1/25th.
For me, there isn't enough difference to worry about. The VAST majority would never be able to tell unless they actualy measured them. The rest are rivet counters IMO.
Don't worry about it or you'll become a rivet counting JMN.

No problem Andy.
That's just my opinion, others are sure to disagree.

I agree there isn't much difference in the two. I used parts from both when kit bashing and it all looks the same.

With the models of today, it's true, little diff. However, way back when...the Monogram cars had parts a bit bigger than the AMTs and it showed in side by side comparison. Thankfully today things seem much better.

Re: Is there much difference...
I've seen two 1/25th scale models sitting side by side that were out more than a 1/25th beside a 1/24th.
And they would have been old kits so that makes sense Harron68

Agree on the not too much difference. I remember some old kit or die cast cars that on the box was write 1/24 but the measurement were completely off. Maybe a worn down mold.

Re: Is there much difference...
I could do you a pic and post it for you Andy of a 1/24th scale big rig next to a 1/25th big rig. As they are larger than the average car. But can you tell me which is which?. It,s like Al said only a rivet counter fire,s up with (that,s not right, that's wrong, those don't go there ect..ect..) If they can do better the best thing to do is tell them to do it. I normaly do as I don,t hold back or mince my words I,m straight to the point. I have a burning hate for rivet counting and nit picking.
