Our "Bad Brit" ............
Enclosed below are some pictures of our "Bad Brit" .......... as I have stated before, I have a love affair with little English cars because they make such great American street rods .............. Ours is a 1948 English Ford Thames 5 cwt panel van ............ it was rescued from the drag strips and it took us 5-1/2 years to complete its final conversion to a street rod ............. it's powered by a 327 cubic inch Corvette engine, backed up by a TurboHydro 350 transmission and a 9" Ford rear end with 35 teeth on the ring and 10 on the pinion ............ the fiberglass tilt nose is an original FiberglasTrends unit, the body is steel and even has the original aluminum rear doors .............. with its 90" wheelbase, 377 horsepower, and weighing only 2,488 pounds, it's a real kick to drive ............. and yes, it will jump up on the wheelie bars if you hit it too hard

you'd want to park that in Revell's top man's parking space and demand they make a kit of it! LOL

Awesome looking little English Ford. Love the color and understated elegance of the whole "look" of the car. Really sharp looking.
I bet it WOULD stand on those wheelie bars if the throttle was hit hard!

Sweet ride combines the flavor of the street and the drag strip. Nice work.

I have a soft spot for the old Fords. Mainly Cortina,s over the years since I started driving I,ve had about 11-12 of them. But that little van looks sweet with none of that modern tack clagged on by the chav down the road. Respect nice to see some original custom work.

Yes sir, it is street legal. North Carolina only requires one plate on the rear, and we have it on an electrical rotating mount. When the ignition is turned off, the plate rotates up under the car. When the ignition is turned on, it drops down under the chute pack.webby wrote: Sweet ride! Is it street registered? Didn't see any plates.
