Opel Team Rosberg
Well after a hard fought battle this is what I ended up with. Decals will be the death of me. Had to use a hair dryer as decal solutions didn't seem to touch them to settle them down. The heat worked well on the decals but I didn't pay enough attention to the plastic and melted the b pillar on the side window. That was enough to make me call it quits with it. Can't win them all...Thanks to all for the help with the decal application.

The more I look at it the more I like it. Too bad about the hair dry trouble.

Thanks PF. I was so happy with the paint job I did on it. I nailed the three tone positioning, all was looking great until........... LOL.

Just part of the hobby. I hate it when I am almost done and then something doinks up the build. I think it looks great. Nice work Brent.

Hi Brent,
This looks great, sorry to hear you had some problems with the decals and to be honest I hadn't noticed the pillar until I re-read what you had wrote...

It still looks great to me Brent. Which kit is it BTW?
As you will know, most of what I build, are race cars covered in decals, so I have a lot of experience working with them so I can say with confidence, that it's just like laying paint. The more you do the better you will get BUT, just like paint, sometimes things go wrong.
All part of the rich experience we call modeling.

Great work, hard to get the paint that perfect, but you did! Decals, seems to me how they go on depends on what brand kit or aftermarket make they are. Each is a bit different in soaking time and how well Micro Sol/Set work.
We here in the Midwest don't have as much interest or access to the Euro-racer kits. Tamiya's kits always fit well, but detailing has suffered as they try to keep costs down with fewer parts and individual detail quality at times. Revell of Europe has some good kits too, tho not quite at good as Tamiya.
Thanx for your posting of this (new to me) model, it's a beauty!!!

Re: Opel Team Rosberg
Thanks everybody.
Here is the kit, I see a few on Ebay, they are calling them rare. Probably because it's so old (1995). Opel Calibra V6 DTM
The kit was great, parts fit well. The instructions were a little vague at times. Kind had to figure things out for yourself. Had a few parts that had to be assembled before hand that fit into another part type of thing but went together perfectly. Definitely not my style of build but love the fact I built something different. I was really wanting to work on my two and three tone paint skills when I bought this kit. The decals did worry me and did not disappoint LOL. Another build I started years ago finally completed. I will continue to plug away with the decals, maybe the next one wont be so demanding though.
