A few weeks ago, my mother-in-law asked me why I don't do volunteer work. I told her I did, just not in the conventional ways that she approves of. On Saturday, I volunteered to judge a BBQ contest.

Last Friday, I was a driving instructor for a March of Dives fund raiser at Road America. I got to instruct, critique, and ride along,at speed, in the following cars.

I even got to drive my car in the afternoon. Later we had a nice dinner with talks by David Hobbs and Brian Redman.

A very enjoyable day. Someone has to do it.

Since I don't have a roll bar in the Italia, I had to drive my BMW 330Ci. The 5 prefix in the number indicates an instructor.

Hey, I crew for thee race teams, mostly for expenses. I also drive cars, for friends, to local shine and shows, two or three times a week. Idle hands are the tools of the devil.
