Digger Dragster Empty Digger Dragster

Part of the AMT Double Dragster Kit.

Not my shining hour I feel but it was a fun build.

Box stock build apart from the plug leads and stripping the chrome in favour of Alclad polished alluminium.

Not one of AMT's best and the twin blowers and pipes were a bit tricky dicky to install. Still I was pleased to find a way to assemble chassis and body individualy and still get them together, thereby being able to eliminate an otherwise unsitely upper/lower bodywork seam.

Considering it's a kit reissued from the early '60s it is wonderful. I bought two and I don't even build these days, that's how cool I still think it is. As far as realism goes, it could stand improvements, smaller front wheels, better frame. Still, for all the engines and options and two complete kits with rare parts, it's a winner. Likewise, your work is quality as always! Thanx for a hint of the way it was. There's a You Tube of the double blown engine real machine going down the strip, driver's view, if it's still up there. I think the driver was Eddie Hill (also featured in a foto in the latest HOT ROD special issue mag on the 1960s).
