Re: Model A coupe
My little AC in the shop (I keep it on low cool) couldn't keep it cooler than 83° this morning, so I gave up and came into the house !!
I did get the engine mounts done, the frame primer-ed (finish), and the detail started on the radiator - fan and overflow bottle. Here it is mocked in place. :)

That's looking very nice indeed, I really like the work you've done on the rear suspension

Radiator mounted and the hoses routed forward towards the engine :)
You can see in the background of the 2nd foto that I'm forming a firewall setback.

Re: Model A coupe
Now you got my curiosity moved up to 10. "Why would Clay be putting the radiator in the rear of this car?" . I am thinking he has something special planned for the front end of it, but I wonder what. Excellent work Clay.

Re: Model A coupe
I'm installing louvers in then rear pan to aid in the cooling/venting for the rear mounted radiator Doing them one at at time to keep as much strength in the pan as possible while the butchery goes on. The webbing between individual louvers will be removed when they are all secure.
Rear fenders are also being bobbed, and flange replaced.

Great Imagineering! Your ideas and ability to make it happen are truly amazing. I do suggest you stay away from doing planes. They just look weird with multiple hemis and big tires! Thanx!

Re: Model A coupe
I want to use the coupes trunk hinge but my fantsy-antsy tube kickup was in the way.
To keep the pin placement, I glued plastic pieces over them and then ground clearance on the inner side.

Looking good Clay. Those louvers all the way across rock. Nice work. I understand what you are doing with the hinges. I had to look at it a minute but finally the light came on.

Re: Model A coupe
The louvers are a nice touch, and the hinge mod also has the added benefit of a more precise mounting.

Re: Model A coupe
Putting the carbs on top makes it a six-deuced coupe. That's a tall engine, pardner!

Re: Model A coupe
Particularly hard day battling sugar ants that invaded the pantry, but managed to get the 59 Caddy tail light mated to a bezel and the rear fender. Plus, I figured someone may look behind the front fender, so I installed some disc brakes to help control the mayhem that that engine could cause.

Re: Model A coupe
I really like the tail light and I suppose the brakes could be useful. Hope you got all those ants Clay.
