Another '56 Delray
In response to overwhelming requests (1) here's my take on Revell's '56 Delray. Stock, I've added plug leads, valve stems and that's about it.
She's getting close, still working on the interior- the assembly is only for this photo.
Half way through the BMF, the seats are done- not all that well- the Dulcote 'blushed' from high humidity :(
Just got the door panels to do, waiting on some more black BMF to mask 'em.
Cheers,
Chris

Looking good Chris. Perfect color for a 56. Looks like you are having the same problem as I am with mating the firewall to the cowl though.

It's better than it looks- some black paint makes it look worse. There's still a gap though, but I'll live with it.
John, did you have agro with the two 'tabs' that protrude down from the firewall? I ended up cutting 'em off!
I've had a a couple of body-firewall-chassis fit issues of late, the '60 Impala is cursed with it- which is why it's in the "ignore" pile until I'm good & ready to face it.
I'm not sure if Delrays were available in single tone paint or not, but I went ahead anyway. I hate masking, and the interior had plenty to do.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Another '56 Delray
Chris: My Delray is sitting right now; had to get ready for the GSL show in Salt Lake City. I'll probably get back to it in the next couple of weeks. I haven't cut the tabs yet, but I think I'll give it a try and see if it helps. My gap is much worse than yours. My other thought is to add a strip of styrene and then use epoxy to fasten the parts together. I think that would at least hide the gap. We will see, what we will see.

Good luck at SLC, I spent a night there about this time last year. Friendly folk & very helpfull when you spill a can of Coke on your notepad PC!
On the gap front, I did toy with the idea of satin black on the firewall !

Other than the firewall gap, is there any other problems that are noticeable? The color really makes this car look awesome.

No real issues, Buck. Good to see a kit other than a top of the range Belair hardtop or convertible too.
Having a 2 door post body means one can model a 150 as well. Not that I'm that keen.
Cheers,
Chris

Yeah !!! Looks great !
Always liked the 56. I still remember the days when I worked in gas stations ( yes, people didn't have to pump their own gas, then) , how cool I thought the hidden gas filler caps were behind the hinged taillight on those NEW 56s. Owner had to tell me where it was on my first one
