Re: Revell Triumph Tiger 100
I have changed over to posting this in the latest community build, motorcycles, but I'll continue on here also.
Went out this afternoon and got into more deep doo doo trying to mount those carbs. May have that up tomorrow !

Re: Revell Triumph Tiger 100
Thanks, Gaz
I had set up the carbs to be mounted with brilliant plan that proved to be too intricate for me to pull off.
in an almost desperate attempt to finish it out with no damage to anything, I abandoned any attempt at even my fabled 'imagineering' and resorted to just plain old redneck ingenuity.

Re: Revell Triumph Tiger 100
Great stuff! And 'redneck ingenuity' is too often overlooked as a viable solution - some of the coolest builds out there (in real life as well as scale) are the result of brute force 'git 'er done' fabrication. Looking forward to seeing more.

Re: Revell Triumph Tiger 100
Big difference. I can see how you would miss something like that. I thought it looked good before also. LOL

Mounting the reworked Triumph tank.
I worked a brief time in the late 80's in a metal fabricating shop. I never dreamed I would eventually enjoy 20 years of retirement and model building. And I never realized how handy these scraps of bar stock would be !
Woah ! Looking art these photos, I'd better check the triple tree/handle bar bracket for clearances !

Re: Revell Triumph Tiger 100
I needn't have worried about clearance for the triple trees, There's plenty of room.
While I was at it, I took my first good look at the forks. I was sure that due to the guesstimated neck rake, that I would have to extend the forks. Happily I can use the stock kit forks. Leaves a rake to the frame, but as a dedicated hot rod lover, I can live with some rake .
On my XS, I had stock Kawasaki forks on a raked custom Paugho frame. It sat level though... But there was only 4" of ground clearance !

Re: Revell Triumph Tiger 100
The kit's headlight rim and reflector were meant to set in a cute fairing type housing.
Not for this hot rod !
Racking my brain for what I could use for a decent bucket, I went to my 'Junk' stash.
The things I save figuring I would never have a use for!
Found a submarine hull. I think I can make this work !
