Wow, you've really brought that one piece chassis to life. Can I ask what is your masking method?
I'm jealous!
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks all. No masking used at all. All done with brushes freehand using mainly Revell aqua paints exept the yellow base which was sprayed with rattle can.

Now I'm really jealous! Any tips on how you get such a clear, clean demarcation between the colours?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Nissan 370Z (Tamiya)
Hi. The yellow is from a Tamiya rattle can so as you know once that's down there's no shifting it by accident. The paints I use are water based but go straight on top in around two coats as I keep the brush moist to keep it smooth but the beauty of the stuff is if you do make an error it can quite easily be corrected by 'scraping' the excess off with a toothpick before it dries too hard.
1) Moist brush
2) Steady hand (holding breath while painting)
3) Plenty of bright light
4) Silence to focus
5) Toothpick on hand to remove any mistakes

Re: Nissan 370Z (Tamiya)
Hi all, next update.
Almost finished the suspension.
I'm weathering it as I go along.
I'm using Humbrol weathering powder.
Now, looking at the back suspension I see there is a huge empty gap where there should be springs and the area, to me anyway, sticks out a mile so I'm going to make springs for it.
A massive shout out to Webby and Mike C for their excellent ideas on making the springs which I have adopted here. Solder round a screw. Perfect.
I'll put it on a rubber gromit and paint it black.

Just got caught up on your build. A beautiful finish on the body and fine detail painting and weathering on the undercarriage. Looking forward to seeing this one completed.

The exhausts will always rot from the back to the front.
As for the rust colour Dave, Ive just had my 28 year old Mx-5 up on a ramp and the original system is grey with tiny flicks of rust.
It does look good though.

Thanks all.
Well, as Patsy said in 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' - "It's only a model"
