Lindberg L 700
Nostalgia flashback. Rummaging thru the salvage for my current build, I came across a part that was waiting since 2007 to be used.
One of only a couple of times that I ever built a kit as it was intended.
This L 700 was fun to build. The truck on the bed, however, was scratched and bashed from a junker 34 PU cab.
Not intending to brag, but this combo won me a prize at the 22nd annual Southeast nationals in Tampa.

Re: Lindberg L 700
Lindberg Dodge truck was originally one fantastic kit, but complicated. Body tilted and doors opened. It began as a creation by the best 1/25 scale company, IMC. Sadly, their output wasn't much and they vanished after creating that kit, the Little Red Wagon (and its offshoots), the Ford LeMans GTs, the Ford coupe ('46-'48), and notable Chaparral racers and a couple others.
You did a super job with your kit (more dio, really). The '34 truck's wheel/tire combo and stakebed really help bring the picture into reality. Thanx!

Thanks, everyone.
Harron, the wheels and tires final result pleased even myself. I scratched the wheel on top of a Gangbusters Lincoln spoked rim and then cast a half dozen. The tires were Gangbuster kit tires !

Fantastic scratch building Clay, what are the wheels off of on your creation?

Curt,
I built a master off of one of the spoked wheels from the Lincoln Gangbusters kit. I then cast a bunch in resin back when I had gotten one of the resin sets from Micro Mark (KKKKK - Klay's Krappy Klusterfukt Kasting Kompany ) :o).
I used the tires from that kit.
FYI, I still have 9 of them. If anyone would like some, just let me know. Bear in mind, they are homemade castings, and not replicas of anything at all, just out of my imagination. They fit the tires from the Lincoln Gangbusters kit.

Re: Lindberg L 700
Nice build on a finicky truck kit!(still love it!)
Really cool display of the kits too! Deserving of an award!
Did you alter the rear springs to level the truck?
When the got their measurements to do the kit they must have done it with the cab bobtail so the springs were not compressed causing the kit to end up jacked up in the back!LOL

I admire anyone casting their own parts. My one attempt was successful, pop off valves to improve the Tamiya Porsche 956 (?) endurance machine. I used modeling clay and epoxy...and it worked! Thanx for your addition to the truck section here. I always feel widening interest with the sheer variety of trucks one can build so many ways is a good thing.
