Gives one the idea of how brave (nutso?) they were. Reading books and the movie (the right stuff) on astronauts, I can see how the daredevil competitiveness was the emotion that propelled them into the space program. They drove cars like they tested planes. Good work on one tiny kit. I have a tiny kit of the moon lander I'd luv to do someday.

Thanks, all buttoned up except for escape hatch. The molds
are definitely worn, the fit is not tight. I will definitely need to
do some "creative sanding". Two of the three seams needed filler
and I am hoping I don't destroy too much of the raised detail. I
also had to add the heat shield to draw the parts together and hold
the bottom flush. I had wanted to paint it first but I may need to fill
gaps between the capsule sides and it. I definitely am looking into the
Atomic City 1/12 Mercury capsule with it's ONE PIECE capsule, no multiple
pieces and seams to fool with.---John

Regardless of small scale, a wonderful job on a historic vehicle.
