1961 Ford Galaxie.
So I was drawn to this kit like a moth to the flame...LOL
It is a pretty old molding I guess but it bears up well, only a few mold lines were visible..
Lots of goodies in the kit - straight into the spares box as I will be doing it near standard.
So got the shell done in resale red!
The underside was just done flat black with a bit of blowover with the red.
Then it was cleared, next up will be foiling it and assemble...I said near std,I am changing the wheels - JOHN J look away! I have a history with him and Al not quite liking my big wheels on classics...LOL

Nigel: You can do whatever you want with this one. I've never thought of the 61 Galaxie as a classic. Wheels don't make a difference one way or the other.

Looks like a fine paint finish, Nigel. Is 'Resale Red' the actual named color? LOL

Cheers and LOL gents.
Actually Mike I used to be in the trade and there are various nicknames for colours so resale red refers to a red car that will sell quickly and ''doom blue'' is a navy/dark blue..........RetiredMike wrote:Looks like a fine paint finish, Nigel. Is 'Resale Red' the actual named color? LOL

Well I got the foiling done and it was tricky, the worst so far. Then I decided to tint the windows, easy as I have a pound shop two doors down!
The wheels went on nicely alough I needed to make a new axle as the track as too narrow,It is completed now and I will post pics on the apropriate section shortly...

Nigel: I like your color choice. I've never been a fan of any of the 1961 Fords, but yours will look pretty good after all.
