'36 Ford Barn Find
Decided to try a different twist on a Gasser, by making it a Barn Find. Will be doing mostly acrylic paints on this build. Starting out with red primer.
Then six shades of base coat.
Will be using the kit Cadillac engine.
The rear suspension system off of a Willys kit.
Want to have half the hood open to show the engine.

Most of my models finish at this point - but this looks interesting - yeh !

Great idea, Bruce. Could even fit into the group build as a car that was raced in the 60's that the owner could just never part with. There are some old weekend racers out there who still have them tucked away.

Great start Bruce. I agree with Mike it could go into the community build.

I'm uncertain on the paint job, at least whether it's supposed to be new (but look old) or if it's supposed to be genuinely rusty and ratty. I DO like the 6 carb Caddy engine. That makes it special. Wish you luck on the rest.

Great idea and start Bruce.
Can I assume you will be rusting her up and muckying up the engine some?

Bruce: I wasn't sure what I would think of the paint job, BUT, that is great!!! The shiney guys might not think it the greatest, but you have my complete attention sir.

Re: '36 Ford Barn Find
Thanks Buck and John. She was shiny back in the 60s, but sitting in a barn since then, she's a might tarnished and mucky. Maybe someone will find her and shine it all up again.
Applied some Slixx Gasser decals and will try and tone them down later with some aging. Also worked on the Caddy engine by installing wiring, fuel lines and headers. Then gooped them up a bit.

Re: '36 Ford Barn Find
I think it looks terrific and JUST like a barn find. Well done.
I'd suggest a coat or two of Dullcote on the engine though, just to knock back the shiney blue.
I want to do a dio with a rusty old NASCAR shell, probably towards the end of this year, so I'll be picking your brains about how you did the 'surface' rust.

I like it, Dog,
Finding a barn find body and using it actively in a competition vehicle would have engine and running gear in better condition.
Engine looks great !
