Re: Thunderbird & 32 Roadster
It’s Heighington Village : from the old English : ‘Hanging Hill’
Looks better on a sunny Summers day ...and not that far from you Al,
- it’s just off the A68 and straight up north for 36 miles to Styford Bridge/Stocksfield and turn left onto the A69?
I actually live in more modern property, set behind the main village green area.
Don’t tell the Southerners about our fabulous countryside Al, - otherwise they’ll all want to live here...it’s our secret, right ?
Thanks for the latest comments - however my plans for a model-fest today were thwarted,
odd jobs, etc., etc., meant only a couple of hours of sticking and painting
- but 'aint that the way it goes ?

Re: Thunderbird & 32 Roadster
I'm not that far from the Styford round about Ron and the UK distance calculator put us just 40 miles apart.
Since Paul is moving to Monkey country soon maybe the three of us could meet up sometime next year? Possibly take in one of the Historic Motor Racse at Croft?

Re: Thunderbird & 32 Roadster
Maybe your mileage is 'as the crow flies' - as I have travelled that route quite a few times before,
as I had a customer in Stocksfield - uphill all the way north and a fast switchback ride south.
Hartlepool isn't too bad these days, but I guess Paul 'Beowulf' has good reasons for the move.
The Marina there holds quite a few classic car and rod events during the year.
....but a meet up would be good idea.

Re: Thunderbird & 32 Roadster
At last...the ‘32 Roadster is officially finished.
When I first opened this Monogram kit I was a little disappointed as the chassis frame was moulded with the fenders and running boards
and I wanted to build a highboy roadster - but it has finally turned out better than I expected.
Almost built straight out of the box, it is painted Candy Bronze over a White base rather than silver,
wheels and tyres from the Moebius Hudson Hornet, ‘60’s steering wheel, copper tube tailpipes, wired and detailed engine, etc.
Many would expect the typical triple carb setup, but I added a modern inlet and carb, and BIG colour-coded air cleaner to the engine
- just to be different.
Finally adding a set of classic UK plates from my first VW beetle that I owned back in 1977.
...chalk up another finished kit !
