Let me know if you find and Al. I'm down to my last container. These tiles are what I use on the dark side for cobble stones and such.

Gary: You found the right company, but not the right tiles. The colored tiles are still available, but the plain mono color tiles have disappeared. I tried the colored tiles awhile back, but couldn't get an authentic look when I stained them. You and Al might have better luck with them. I hope so. I tried contacting the company in Isreal but got no answer. Let me know if you guys have better luck than me. Thanks for the help. JOHN

I couldn't find the plain ones John your right they seem to have been discontinued. I would prime them with a buff or grey then paint/airbrush them the final colours needed.

Curt unfortunately it appears that Ruth's is going on hold again.  My health has taken another turn and I probably won't be modeling for awhile.  As of yesterday I'm under doctors orders to keep my feet above the level of my heart whenever possible.  That precludes me from sitting at my bench.  The other thing that will keep me honest is that SWMBO was there when the doctor gave me the order.  I go today for another test.  Hopefully the news will be better.

I'll still be checking the forum and commenting, but it's going to be a while before I do another project.  See you when possible.

Sorry to learn of this John. Follow Dr's orders and maybe you will be back at it sooner then you think.

Great work so far on this John, those Mosaic stones look great. I'll have to check the stores here in Aus for something similar. Nice one.

Peter:  The stones I used were made in Isreal.  I bought these on a clearence 5 or 6 years ago.  I have not been able to locate any.  I tried to contact the company at their Web address, but never received an answer.  I'll dig out the address and send it to you.  Maybe you'll have better luck.

Thanks John, yes I read in your previous blog. I thought perhaps there may be a similar product, or perhaps, even the same product available somewhere in Oz. If I find something, I'd be happy to ship some your way. ;-)

Peter if you are successful I would greatly appreciate any thing.  I'm down to having enough for one more fairly small project.  If you haven't looked at my thread on Frenchies Barbecue you might want to.  The barbecue is made from the tiles.

Thanks Gary.  Looks like they have what I want.  The only drawback is the cost of shipping. I'll have to see if they have a distributor here in the States.  Thanks again.

HEEEEEEE'S BACK!!!

The year 2017 proved to be a complete waste as far as modeling goes. Just so you guys know what has been going on I'm going to give you a rundown on what happened then I promise not to mention it again.

Late 2016: My wife fell on ice severely injuring her foot and required major surgery. She was the focus of my interest for quite some time. No modeling during this time.

December/January 2017: I was hospitalized with pneumonia and sepsis. Spent about a week in the hospital and several weeks recovering at home.

March 2017: Had extreme pain in my low back that virtually prevented walking. Hospitalized for an L1-L5 laminectomy. Things went well, but recovery took several weeks.

Late April 2017: Another surgery. This time a total knee replacment. In the hospital for a week and a rehab facility for two additional weeks.

Early July 2017: Tripped and fell breaking two ribs. Recovery ate up somemore time.

Late July 2017: Believe it or not, tripped and fell again. This time I suffered a torn rotator cuff requiring another surgery and a long-long recovery time.

October 2017: I started coughing. I have chronic bronchitis and thought that was the problem. Over the next four months I saw a total of five doctors and mde two trips to the ER due to extreme breathing problems. The cough was a mystery to the doctors and did not respond to antibiotics. I continued to grow weaker and weaker to the point that in the middle of February I found myself back in the ICU. I was again diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis.

By now I had a new pulmonologist who decided to do a bronchoscopy to see what was going on in my lungs. He found that I had a mucoid plug that was blocking the esophageal tube into my right lung. This was causing me to in effect breth only with my left lung.

Okay, the whining is over. The plug has been removed and I am well on the way to a complete recovery. I have finally worked up the desire to get back to modeling. I'm currently working on a Mobieus 1971 Ford pickup and will start a thread in the next day or so.

ALSO, I INTEND TO GET BACK ON RUTH'S!! After all it has only been almost four years since I started it.

I want to thank you guys who contacted me during my problems. The concern shown meant the world to me. Here is to 2018 and a new start.....
