Hawk kit number 11081

What can I say. This is a very simple kit to build and it makes an excellent display piece.

The Pros: The kit is nicely cast. The fit of the parts is right on. There was very little filing and sanding involved. The colors are pretty close to real.

The cons: If you follow the instruction sheet all the spark plug wires, vacuum lines and oil lines will be to long. You need to fit each one to it's location. All the above wires and lines are the same size. That wouldn't be true in 1:1 but looks OK on this build. The metal block is a little tricky to get glued together. I used 5 minute Epoxy to make sure it wouldn't fall apart later on. The instructions are a little lacking in detail, but with a little thought you can work through the trouble spots. Just don't glue anything until you are sure that's were it goes.

Overall I think this kit gets an 8 on a 1-10 scale. Not sure a 10 kit has ever been produced and it's just not a 9. Buy it you will enjoy it very much.
