Fokker DVII - 1/72 Revell
I started working on this awhile back, but stopped because of the decals. The model is a simple kit of the Fokker, with not much great detail. The problem is they didn't color the lozenge camouflage. Using an old Photoshop program, I finally filled in the color pattern and printed it out. Don't know if it's close in accuracy, but it's ready to go.
Hopefully, another one out of the WIP box.
Thanks for looking,
Mike

Re: Fokker DVII - 1/72 Revell
Wow Mike, I'm impressed. I've always wanted to be able to create and print my own decals but lack the facilities.
Good luck with it.
Good luck with it.

Nice! The plane itself looks wonderfully 'period' and the re-printed decals look spot on.

Re: Fokker DVII - 1/72 Revell
This one's moving along more smoothly than the Zeppelin-Staaken, so here's the latest update.
Wheel assembly, main struts, cowl painting, engine top and MG's are complete.
Outer wheel discs are separate pieces which make for cleaner painting.
The homemade decals went on nicely.
Used leftover, blank white decal paper for the white center section.
Thanks for looking and for your comments,
Mike

Re: Fokker DVII - 1/72 Revell
I just joined the other day Mike, and am slowly plowing through all the work here. I have this one in my “unfinished “ pile, principally because of the decal problem. You did a great job on them - very impressed, but not sure how you did it. Do you need special software and a special printer? I loved the Strakken and the Felixstowe BTW - another one in my stash! You are inspiring me - always a bad thing!

Re: Fokker DVII - 1/72 Revell
The third pic in this thread shows the kit supplied decal sheet without lozenge coloring. Revell wanted you to handpaint in the colors onto the decal after it was applied! The next pic shows a scanned copy of the original which was then called up in Photoshop where the colors were filled in. The finished copy was printed onto Testors Decal Paper with an inkjet printer and overcoated with their sealer after it was dry.
Thanks, guys.
Thanks, guys.
