Ah, challenging the New Year with braille scale. Good Luck.
I always wondered if someone building those Airfix kits actually use the paints provided.

funny enough, on the same forum that im doing this for a 'little armour GB', in a couple of months there is a 'starter kit GB'..........any kit by any maker that includes the glue, paint and brush in the box......and you are only allowed to use whats in the box!........no primer, no kleer, no filler..........only tools allowed are a knife, a sanding stick and masking tape.....im planning on either a Me109 or a Cutty Sark clipper ship

I'm trying to be a bit more diverse by looking in on here. Ooh, look at all those wheels. I might try something like this in the near future.

so many wheels cos the germans came up with a torsion bar suspension system which was compact by interweaving the road wheels, still simpler than earlier german tanks but still a pain when it came to maintainance

Re: King Tiger Tank
I'm always stunned by the amount of detail crammed into these teeny little models. Nice progress.

Yes, the detail looks very good. And it's nice to see they hollowed out the tip of the gun barrel.

Re: King Tiger Tank
sorry for dodgy pic
current state of play.....
been painted, glossed ready for decals and a black wash, which is why its shiny...still getting used to new airbrush but i think it will sort it self out when it gets a wash and matt coat
not going to try to paint the tools........first cos my eye/hand steadiness aint good enough in this scale.......secondly from what ive read they wouldnt have removed the tools, just sprayed over the top, if they were doing it in the field

Re: King Tiger Tank
black enamel wash didnt go as planned, left it looking a bit 'grubby' which might not be a bad thing
had a matt clear coat on top which has toned it all down
next step is the tracks and some mud

That is some fine work on a very small scale. The paint scheme looks great.
