| Hi all, Well I haven't sat at the bench for about nine months, just haven't had the inclination since my wife died. However, seeing Mike start his SMS Emden Dreadnought has fired up my enthusiasm again (hopefully) so I broke out this one. In addition to the kit, I also bought wooden decking and P/e railings for it. Never built a ship before and the dazzle camo has me terrified. Still, nowt ventured, nowt gained. | It's a great kit with no fit issues, I'm sure you will love it. Look forward to the build. |

| Nice to see you back, Al. It looks like a fine subject. The wood decks gives a lot to the build. The camo design does appear terrifying as it continues over the equipment on deck. |

| Nice to see you back at the bench Al. I would be terrified of that camo also _________________ Don't think you're on the right road just because it’s a well-beaten path.

| The lack of "action" in building means the site's "other" categories have even fewer postings. THANK YOU for a ship. On this 4th Of July, a cool cruise is perfect on a hot humid day. |

| Thanks for the welcome back guys. Hope to have some progress soon.
Kats...... dunno about that but I feel I have at least one ship in me.
Trivia:
She was commissioned for WWI, re-fitted twice between the World Wars and during WWII went on to become the most battle decorated ship ever in the British Royal Navy. _________________ Al.

| Looking good, Al.
Do you plan to file or sand down the wood lines on the deck before applying the Artwox? I did it on the Iron Duke that I built and everything worked perfectly. I didn't do it on the current build of the Emden because it was difficult to get at, and now some edges here and there tend to lift slightly.
Just a thought. |

| Mike.... Thanks for the heads up but the deck woodlines on this one are recessed, so the problem shouldn't arise. _________________ Al.

| Great progress! My favourite part of ship models has always been the saturation of detail, even if one stays completely OOB. |
