| Another one ready for the paint. A kerbside kit from Arii. A nice choice of ease when it comes to the targa tops. |

No engine, just the underside which is quite detailed. Bodywork is very good and lined up well in construction. Glass is horrible, all wibbly wobbly like a bad pair of NHS specs with pits and scratches inside. Good rubber tires with sidewall markings. fair detail in the interior but no decals for the speedo and dials. Looking forward to it. |

| We had one of those gens of Vett. They are a real PIA to get in and out of, especially when your back is acting up. Still fun to drive though. Looking forward to seeing what ya do David. |

| Ah yes, 1982 the peak of smog control. I believe that year of Vette came with a 350 cid and a whopping 200 bhp... very unlike its earlier versions in the 60s with 327s which were rated at 350 bhp... the 82 was DE-tuned...
I always liked the body style though and one could always soup it up on your own
Looking forward to your build. |

Yes a real dog. That body style did afford more cargo room then the notch back. Sorry David for the mini high jack of you thread. |

| Did it have plastic body panels? Or was it fibre glass? |

| Fibre glass Dave.
The front and rear bumpers on your one would be plastic and there are panel gaps where they meet on the real thing. |

Shay is correct the whole rear fascia including the spoiler was made of urethane and were always wavy and had poor fit. The nose had the same treatment but the piece was only what would be considered the front bumper cover. |

| At least they're molded in, not like the the old MPC version of which I have two...
Similar set up to a Porshe 928. |

| Looking forward to this. When it comes to 'curbside' subjects the Corvettes are always apt models. |

Looking forward to your build.
HP ratings in the '60s were SAE Gross, not SAE Net, so that does account for some of the HP loss. Pollution gear did detune them, but it's not the whole story. 200 SAE Net HP wasn't all that bad for '82. Back OT, I haven't seen this kit before, looking forward to seeing you work your magic on it. |

I still think 200 bhp was way exaggerated. A Corvette should have at least 400 real horsepower |

| A Chevy 5 litre was rated at 125 bhp back in 1982 in a Caprice, I think they had 175 from the 5.7 in the Vette at most.
Still good fum I'd imagine |

| Shay, they may be 'heavy', and under powered but still fun to drive. But when it rained you better have a smooth right foot and fast reactions or you were over steering everywhere.
Looking forward to seeing some progress updates on this David. |
