PostSubject: Trim Castle   Tue 13 Mar 2018, 6:12 pm

My Drivers Licence got lost, but I couldn't get an appointment in North Dublin's two centres for 4 weeks.

So thinking outside the box I tried a centre in a Village called Trim, about 45 mins away in morning traffic and got an appointment two days later!

Mind you I forgot to bring the camera, Trim Castle was the location for Mel Gibson's Braveheart.

Nice fry-up around the corner too for a fiver. lol

So, as a matter of interest seeing as we have an international audience, has everyone got a credit card sized licence these days?

Bernadette is between your two ages and still has a UK paper one that's valid until she's 70.

That's why I asked.

They came in here years ago too, but my paper one with photo was still valid up to 2020.

I had a paper one valid until I was in my 70's but when I last moved house they insisted on the photo card license which needed my photo and loads of other personal documents in order to issue it and then the privilege of paying for it every 10 years. Wish I hadn't moved now.

They ride you every way Dave, I was expecting a 10 year licence for my €35 but it only lasts fot the 2 years when my old one would have ran out, then it's €50 for a new one. You can't win.
