Once again, a new start. Cleaned the bodywork up.

Colour is uncertain at this time but I'll probably go with Violet or Lavender.

Looks like the original kit. Hope it has all the "custom and racing" pieces! I'll be watching.

Just had a look at Drastic Plastics for the instructions, it looks quite nice, almost modern Revell.

What do you think Dave?

Well everything seems to fit together ok, nothing is twisted and there is plenty of detail on it. Looking forward to it.

Lovely progress until I reached the bonnet/hood, what a disaster. I'll have to redo it even though it had been sanded, scrubbed cleaned and primed which I thought properly, obviously not. I always have these problems with AMT kits.

And here's the embarrassment for your entertainment.

Looks to me like there was a bit of oil from mold release or water in a airbrush...? I always try to remember to wash the bodies before painting them some...bummer.

No, I scrubbed it under a tap with a toothbrush as I always do then let it dry for a day and with the rest of the bodywork. Obviously there's some sort of contaminent on there.

Hmmmm that's a shame Dave.

I'm wondering if maybe you used some rattle can air freshener in the room which may have settled on the bonnet?? Just thinking out loud.

I've 1000 papered it. If there's any crap left on it then It's deep down. Scrubbed it clean and waiting for better weather again.

A PITA with the hood/bonnet, Dave. My worst 'fear' in modelling is body paint.

I have had paint do that to me. I usually wash the parts with soap without any moisturizer in it that is an oil....then rinse it very well under hot water and let air dry. Hope you get her licked.
